Baby and Toddler Group

'Caterpillars' is the Baby and Toddler group

run by Chalkwell Park Methodist church and was formed in 1983.

Gill, Sally, Ruth and Sue run the group.

We meet every Wednesday morning (during the school term),

from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. in the downstairs hall,

with coffee, tea, orange squash, fruit and biscuits provided.

The aims of the group are:

* To offer an environment in which young children can enjoy

 their first experiences of having fun, making friends and

 learning away from the familiarity of their home surroundings,

 yet with the security of a known adult who can share and

 extend these early learning experiences.

* To encourage our children to develop new skills, with a

selection of toys suitable for babies and children.

* To have a different craft activity each week.

* Give parents the opportunity to socialise with other parents to

 share ideas and make new friends

* with the support of the church, follow the Safeguarding

 Children's policy to create a safe environment
